Today we went to Whispering Woods and found some more spring flowers. Kindergarten took some more spring photos which we will learn how to download next week. Our guest teachers really enjoyed their time with us. They are truly inspired by our Fresh Air Friday program!

Tuesday, April 26

Tomorrow our Bricks 4 Kids class is scheduled from 10:30 to 11:20 AM. We may take a few minutes longer, so if you need to pick up your child at 11:20 please drop by the office.
Volunteer Tea Invitations for May 5, went home today
Treat Day - Tuesday, May 3 is the Kindergarten's families turn to provide nut free snacks for the school to purchase.  On the morning of May 3, please send into school two dozen treats. Savory snacks such as individually wrapped popcorn/chips as well as cupcakes, cookies, Rice Krispy squares and brownies are always popular. Or if you have a family favorite treat that you would like to share please do so! Please talk to our room mom Cassie or myself if you have any questions about treat day.  All funds raised from treat day are for the Kindergarten class! Thank you for your support!
Our Kindergarten Field Trip - Wednesday, May 25 - 8:40 AM to 2:15 PM - please mark your calendars.
'Planning' paperwork for our trip to the Calgary Zoo will be sent home next week.
Fresh Air Friday - April 29  - 1 volunteer is really needed! - Kindergarten is hosting a Professional Development for some Kindergarten teachers from another school! This is a very exciting opportunity for us to showcase our F.A.F. initiative!

Thank you for attending our student conferences. It is always a pleasure to share our learning in Kindergarten!
Monday, April 25 - No classes for students and no letter of the week
Wednesday, April 27 - Bricks for Kids - We are building 3D structures
By Friday,  April 29 - Please send to school a medium sized gift bag and some tissue paper. We have a surprise for a very special person in your family!
Thursday, April 28  - Volunteer Appreciation Tea - Invitations will be sent home in your child's backpacks

Thank you to our volunteers today, we enjoyed our outdoor painting class!
This week, Mrs. Kidd is away so we are not having Library book exchange.
Tomorrow, our resident photographer will be teaching us how to use ipads to take pictures of objects inside the school.
On Thursday, April 21st and on Friday April 22, I'm looking forward to our upcoming interviews. Our students are looking forward to sharing their work in Iris with you!
We are looking for a second volunteer next Wednesday April 27 for 'Bricks for Kids' and for Thursday, April 28th for our outdoor photography class.

Wednesday, April 13

We are discussing and learning about the season 'Spring'. Today, we sketched and painted with water colors the Daffodils at the front of the school. Our students did a wonderful job of using their knowledge of plants to draw and sketch very accurate watercolors of Daffodil plants.

Tomorrow, is a very busy day as we have our Photographer in to teach us about taking pictures with an ipad. We are planning on taking pictures of 'objects' inside the school. Next week we will be going outside to take our pictures.

Fun Lunch is tomorrow and we still require two more volunteers to assist us with supervising our students and our special lunch. If you are available to volunteer, please either sign up via our google calendar or email our room mom Cassie. As I'm teaching at another school tomorrow afternoon I am unable to assist with Fun Lunch. Thank you ever so much for your assistance with our Fun Lunch!

Monday. April 11

What a wonderful morning! Our week is looking great for volunteers for our Photography session this Thursday and for FAF. We have our Fun Lunch this Thursday, so please let Cassie know if you are available to volunteer. Pick up time is 12:15 pm.

Tuesday, April 5

To assist us with focusing on our learning in the classroom we are experimenting with playing calming music. At the end of the week we will discuss whether playing music is helping us with our learning. It will be interesting to listen to and share our  perspective on whether this strategy is working or not!

This month our buddies are teaching us how to use Photo Booth to take pictures of our favorite work.
We are learning to save and name our pictures on our desktop. Next week, we will be uploading our pictures into Iris and sharing why we chose our work to share. We are looking forward to sharing our work in Iris with our families.
