Wednesday, Feb. 28 - Bella Theatre & Home Reading

Tuesday, March 6 - Bella Theatre Field Trip - By Friday, March 2 - Please return your field trip paperwork. We have 4 of our 6 volunteers signed up to join us. If you would like to volunteer please contact me via email.
Home Reading: I'm checking each student's reading level. It's wonderful to observe growth in their reading! When reading any text, please ask your child to point at each word as they read. This will assist them with using their first letter sounds and sounding out each word. I've noticed that some students are trying to read too fast, so pointing with their finger and 'frog jumping' from each word will slow them down and assist your child in focusing on the task.

Monday, February 5 - 100th Day Project

Thank-you for sending in your Letter U objects. Our sharing for letter U went very well. We also enjoyed reading a book about Unicorns, and why they don't make good pets!
Our first session of Yoga was excellent!
Tuesday, February 27 is the 100th Day of Kindergarten. In class we are using our 100 chart to learn and talk about numbers. For our 100th Day of school celebration, please send to school a project made of 100 objects. On the 100th day of school, we will be sharing our 100 Day Projects with other classes. Your child's project can be made of 100 pieces of Lego, noodles, toothpicks, skittles (candy) or anything else that you would like to use. There are many excellent ideas on the web and Pinterest is a great place to start. Please ensure that you label your child's project with their name. Enjoy and have fun together!

Thursday, February 1 -Planting Seeds

Seeds Planted

We have begun to plant our seeds. So far, everyone has one seed planted. To date, we have planted; Tiny Tim Tomatoes, Peppers, Cucumbers and Basil. Next week, we will plant some more seeds into peat pellets. Our tomatoes continue to thrive, and are producing a lot of fruit! Now we must wait for our seeds to germinate and produce seedlings.
Tomorrow, please send your child dressed for the cold weather. Depending on the temperature, we will try to go outside.
Everyone, is painting a winter  picture of Whispering Woods.
Stay Warm!
