Monday, April 29 - Upcoming Dates

Home Reading is progressing nicely. It's always a pleasure to observe our Kindergarten students grow in their knowledge of letters and sounds, words, and sentences. Please remember that every student progresses at their own rate. Every Kindergarten student is a reader!
Our Home Reading program will continue for another month. If you can spare a few minutes in the morning, we could use some assistance in exchanging books for our young readers. Sign up spots are on  signupgenius.com

Wednesday, April 24 - Library

Due to our alternate activities, Kindergarten will not have Library this week.
However we continued our Fairy Tale project, by reading the 'Gingerbread Boy'. We enjoyed a yummy Gingerbread cookie baked by Mrs. Kidd. Thank-you Mrs. Kidd!
Our Earth Day presentation (SWC students) was about reducing our snack and lunch waste. Some students even won a reusable straw for answering a question! For more information have a chat with your child and/or check this link.

We are checking your child's home reading level. If you receive some new books with a sticky note on it, please add those books to your home reading zip lock bag.
Our Dr. Coffin Cares Assembly on Friday, is postponed until a later date.
Our unit in Physical education is Frisbee Skills. Depending on the weather,  we will be going outside for our gym class. On a daily basis, please ensure that your child is dressed for the weather.

April 3 - Welcome Back!

I hope you enjoyed a lovely, and relaxing March Break.
During Library, Mrs. Kidd is reading fairy tales to Kindergarten. Today, she read the story, 'Field of Buttercups'. This is a story about an Irish boy called Michael O' Grady, who finds a Leprechaun who plays a trick on him. Today we are encouraging everyone to choose one Fairy Tale book to read with you at home.
Please continue to practice our letter of the week sounds at home. On a weekly basis, we are asking Kindergarten to sound out three letter words as well as our 'Jack and the Beanstalk' vocabulary.
