Today, we really enjoyed our Festive party!  Please check yesterday's blog, as it includes important information about 'Mathletics'. For 'Mathletics', we will be working on it at school, and you are welcome to use this program for home practice. Please complete all Kindergarten sections, and tests before you try the Grade 1 work.

Thursday, December 14

Tomorrow, we are going outside for F.A.F. We will continue our study of Living and Non-living things. For a festive craft, we are painting Christmas trees and decorating them. We are learning how to use a paint brush and plan our decorations. For our tree top, we are tracing and cutting out a star.
Next Monday, we are making Christmas cards with our Rm. 4 Buddies.

Tomorrow, is the last day for collecting items for the Grade 5/6 'Fill a Sock' campaign. We are currently in need of lip balm, small chocolates/Candy and gift certificates (i.e.: Tim Horton's, McDonalds, A&W and Wendy's).
Your support is greatly appreciated.

Next week, there will be no Library. Mrs. Kidd would like to check her library inventory, please return your books by next Tuesday.

Thanks to our volunteers, we have our candy houses ready!

Tomorrow, December 13 we are decorating Candy Houses. For decorations, please send a baggie of edible items, labeled with your child's name. I would suggest: smarties, cereal, Christmas cookie decorations and other small candy. I will have a supply of Candy Canes, marshmallows and smarties for the children to use to decorate their Candy Houses. This is a fun, fine motor activity that involves following directions, and planning how to decorate their Candy Houses.

If you forgot to send in your Treat Day money, please send in your quarter.

This Friday, please read Mrs. Rennie's 'Worth mentioning' for our upcoming Spirit Days and Christmas caroling activities.

December 4, 2017

Thank-you for returning your Festive Evening, letters. This year, we have a new entertainment format. Each class, will sing a Christmas song or recite a poem. Please don't worry if you are unable to attend our Festive Evening. If your you and your family can attend that's fine, if not that's okay as well.
Coji Robots have become a very exciting center. Each robot is paired with an ipad app. Kindergarten students are learning to 'drive' and 'macro code' their robots. Additionally, it's exciting to observe everyone problem solve, and learning to share a very cool robot!
By snack time, some students are rather hungry. If you would like to send a second snack to school, you are welcome to do so.
